El Paso Pug Rescue

The El Paso Pug Rescue is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization committed to the aid of homeless, mistreated, neglected, and unwanted Pugs.

We will not discriminate against health or age.

Our mission is to provide aid to the victims of cruelty and neglect, and to find safe and successful homes for homeless Pugs.

We promote responsible Pug ownership through public education about the unique needs of Pugs and promote spaying/neutering.

We are volunteers who are dedicated to every dog who comes into our rescue. We are committed to seeing them through to happy and successful lives.

We accept brachycephalic small-breed dogs, such as: Pugs, Boston Terriers, Pekingeses, Japanese Chins, Brussels Griffons, and French Bulldogs.

The El Paso Pug Rescue was founded in May 2015 by a small group of people who really love Pugs. We first began with our Pug meet-up group EPUG which is still active and encouraged by EPPR to join. It was through EPUG that we began to realize that there was a real need for a Pug rescue in El Paso, TX. We started reaching out to the Pug Rescue of Austin for help. The Pug Rescue of Austin has been one of our greatest supporters and first motivated us to take action here in El Paso.

All of the EPPR team members were also volunteers with the City of El Paso Animal Services, so we saw first hand how great the need for another local rescue was. Our friends at Animal Services helped support our desire to start a rescue. We started attending the beginner rescue classes offered by the City of El Paso Animal Services which guided us through our starting our Rescue Partnership. These classes also helped us to network with other local Rescue Partners.

We are always excited to meet other local rescues. Networking with other rescues helps all of us strengthen the animal rescue community, which is so important in a city like El Paso.

We have been very fortunate to have had the amazing supporters who have helped us get to this point with our rescue.

The El Paso Pug Rescue is completely run by volunteers; no one is paid in this rescue.

The El Paso Pug Rescue has been incorporated by the state of Texas since August 7, 2015.

The El Paso Pug Rescue became a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization effective August 7, 2015.
